Impossible Mission Remastered, Now on Steam
Last Updated on June 15, 2023
One of the most influential action platformers on 8-bit home computers, Impossible Mission, is now available for Windows via Steam!
Released by Epyx on the Commodore 64, Acorn Electron, Amstrad CPC, Apple II, Atari 7800, BBC Micro, Master System, and ZX Spectrum between 1984 and 1988, Impossible Mission pits you against Professor Elvin Atombender, a master criminal tampering with national security computers. Computers must be found, rooms entered, deadly robots avoided, and computers accessed and cracked thanks to puzzle fragments.
Fun and frenetic, the original game eventually made its way onto Sony PSP, Nintendo DS and Wii, and there’s also the 1995 Amiga version, Impossible Mission 2525. As such a memorable game it’s pretty exciting that Impossible Mission is now available to play on Steam, albeit on modern hardware. As long as your system runs Windows 7 SP1 or later (there is no macOS or Linux version), you’ll be able to run Impossible Mission Remastered on your PC.
This new version marks the first time the original Impossible Mission has appeared on PC (the sequel appeared on MS-DOS), and boasts a secret minigame as a bonus feature. Impossible Mission Remastered is set for release after November 6th 2020.
