Virtual GP preinstalled on A600GS and... Half-Life 3 is real!?
Our weekly retro gaming news bulletin boasts Amiga news and Half-Life 3 rumours
When I first played Half-Life in the late 1990s/early 2000s, I never imagined there would be a sequel that was even better. And of course, I’d never be writing about a potential 3rd full game 25 years later.
Yet, here we are, but the adventures of Gordon Freeman are just the tip of the iceberg in an insanely busy week of retro gaming news and releases.

Virtual GP preinstalled on A600GS
It has been announced that Virtual GP and Thunderhell - both by Paolo Cattani - are available on the A600GS, the new Amiga revival system from AmigaKit.
Virtual GP (aka Virtual Grand Prix) was first released in 1999. It has an astonishing 3D engine developed by Cattani, and was intended for AGA systems. You won’t believe it until you see it in action.
Thunderhell (developed in 1990) was thought abandoned until relatively recently, when the first level was uncovered. Three levels of the game are included on the A600GS.
Cattani says: “As a pioneer in the development of video games for the Amiga range of computers I'm very glad and honoured to give my contribution to an amazing project which keeps alive the memory of a machine that was such a glorious milestone of the IT history.”
I really need to get hold of an A600GS…!
Is Half-Life 3 finally happening?
I never imagined I’d ever be writing about Half-Life 3 in anything but wistful tones. Thoughts of a game that never was, of lost opportunities.
Of a story unfinished.
